Chinese team arrives

ISLAMABAD: A delegation from China Institute for International Strategic Studies, Beijing, arrived here on Friday on a week-long visit.

During its stay in Islamabad, the Chinese delegation will call on several dignitaries including member of the National Security Council, Attiya Inayatullah, Foreign Minister, Abdul Sattar, Foreign Secretary, Shamshad Ahmad and Defence Secretary, Lt. General Nasim Rana (Retd).

Chinese delegation comprises experts who have held high positions in the diplomatic service and the Chinese Armed Forces.

It will hold consultations on a wide range of foreign and security policy issues with the Institute of Strategic Studies, keeping in view time tested friendship between two brotherly countries.

The discussions will be guided by the broad bilateral understanding witnessed during the recent visit of the Chief Executive, General Pervez Musharraf to China.

The Pakistani side will be led by the former foreign Secretary Dr Tanvir Ahmad Khan, currently Chairman, Institute of Strategic Studies.ÑAPP
