Hearing in Kulsoom Nawaz passport case adjourned

LAHORE : Mr. Justice Allah Nawaz of the Lahore High Court on Thursday adjourned to January 24 the proceedings in a petition filed by People's Lawyers Forum (PLF) praying to the court to direct the respondent officials to return the passport of Kulsoom Nawaz as the deputy attorney general sought time to contact the authorities concerned.

The law officer contended before the court that he had been unable to contact the authorities concerned and prayed for further time.

The petitioner secretary of the forum contended in his petition that the respondent officials had taken Kulsoom Nawaz's passport in illegal custody after November 12 when the Nawaz government was toppled.

He said that she is a respectable citizen and the wife of a deposed prime minister. She wanted to go to Saudi Arabia for Umra but when she approached the respondents for her passport they refused to return it to her.
