FIR lodged against Nawaz, others on 'jail-break' charge

KARACHI: An FIR was registered against deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former Chief of Ehtesab Cell, Saifur Rehman, ex-Chairman PIA Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others on charge of plan to break the jail where they are being lodged at present.

The FIR No 5/2000 was registered at Police Station Shah Latif Town in District Malir.

The FIR was lodged by Nusrat Hussain Mangi, Superintendent Malir Jail.

A sketch of the interior of Malir Jail showing the location of the cells where Nawaz Sharif and other accused in the October 12 hijacking case are lodged was recovered from the daughter of Saifur Rehman while she was leaving the jail after meeting her father on Eid day.

The sketch recovered also showed the locations of watch posts of security guards and the entrance and exit of the jail and the cells.

According to Sachal PS sources the FIR has been registered under sections 255.B, 34 and 109 PPC. APP
