Corruption charges baseless: Javed Jabbar
ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive's Adviser on Information Javed Jabbar on Thursday said allegations of corruption or misuse of power against him were totally baseless.
Javed Jabbar said it was on record that whenever he took over any public office, he never misused powers or facilities.
"There is no case whatsoever against me in NAB or any other institution," he said.
He was responding to a question that there were allegations of corruption against him and a case was pending against him in the National Accountability Bureau.
Clarifying his partnership in an advertisement company, Javed Jabbar said he had resigned from its board of directors in December 1988 when he took over as the federal minister. However some of his family members are still on the board of the company, he added.
Javed Jabbar said his time was mainly being consumed in voluntary work and not in any business.
There were some differences between PTV and this advertising company, he said. Two cases, one by the former and one by the latter, were still pending before the Sindh High Court. One case is against the company while it has also sued the PTV because it involved a matter of some 200 minutes' time, he added.
To another question, he said all the reputed NGOs had their accounts audited annually which were published and could be checked by any one. APP
