CE stresses importance of ties with US: meets Johnson
ISLAMABAD: US Senator Tim Johnson here Thursday called on Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf, during which, matters of mutual interest were discussed.
During the meeting, the Chief Executive emphasised the importance of Pak-US relations.
"Views were exchanged on ways and means to further enhance bilateral cooperation," according to an official announcement.
"Discussions were also held on regional issues, in particular on Kashmir and Afghanistan."
Pakistan's desire for working closely with the US for the promotion of regional peace and stability was highlighted.
The Chief Executive apprised the US Senator about various developments in Pakistan and the government's policies and priorities in the economic and social sectors.
The CE expressed keen interest in the increase of US investments in Pakistan.
Senator Tim Johnson greatly appreciated the government's policies in various fields and stressed the importance of Pak-US economic cooperation. APP
