HMC suspends drive against encroachments

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has suspended the anti-encroachment drive in Latifabad up to January 20 to enable the people to remove encroachments voluntarily.

The director land, HMC in a statement said that under orders from the high-ups and with the active cooperation of the district administration, the corporation had launched and anti-encroachment drive in Latifabad.

He said the citizens had also extended full cooperation in this regard and were themselves demolishing the encroachments.

He said that as the machines could cause greater damage, the people were being provided an opportunity to remove the encroachments voluntarily.

He, however, warned that no further relaxation in time will be given and the HMC will restart its anti-encroachment drive with full force after January 20.
