Foreign liquor seized, 1 held

KARACHI: The Excise Police on Tuesday recovered 180 bottles of foreign liquor and arrested a leading smuggler in raid at Rizwan Society near Sachal Goth, Malir.

The Director Excise and Taxation, Karachi Division, Iqbal Ahmed Bablani said that Excise Police had received an information about presence of large quantity of foreign liquor in a house on plot No 26-AL in Rizwan Society.

The Excise Police surrounded the specified place at 4 a.m. on Wednesday. During the raid an accused Ali Ahmed alias Mohammed Jumman s/o Bajar Khan was arrested and 180 bottles were recovered from his possession.

Bablani said the accused had remained involved in the sale of foreign liquor in Karachi.

Excise Police have registered a FIR and further investigation was in progress.ÑAPP
