Cooperation among religious parties stressed

HYDERABAD: The Central Ameer, Pakistan Shariat Council, Maulana Fida-ur-Rehman Darkhwasti, has stressed the need for cooperation among religious parties to protect Pakistan's sovereignty, nuclear capability and defend the Islamic clauses that have been included in the Constitution.

He was speaking at an Eid Milan party held in his honour at the residence of local convener of the Council Maulana Qutubuddin, here on Tuesday evening.

He said in furtherance of this objective, a high-level delegation of the Shariat Council had been appointed to meet the heads of various religious parties to develop consensus.

He condemned the atrocities unleashed by Russia against the Chechanian Muslims and added that American lip service in this regard was based on hypocracy.

Darkhwasti deplored the criminal silence of the OIC and Muslim rulers and added that this attitude had created resentment among the Muslim Ummah.

He called upon the Muslim rulers to come out in the open and raise their voice loud and clear in favour of the freedom fighters in Chechnya and Kashmir.

Maulana Dr Saif-ur-Rehman Arain, Dr Abdul Salam Qureshi, Maulana Abdul Mateen Qureshi and others attended the Eid Milan party.
