Dr Atta to be felicitated on 11th

KARACHI: Majlis-e-Taleem-e-Milli will felicitate noted scientist Prof. Dr Atta-ur-Rehman on the conferment of international prize by Unesco for outstanding contributions for scientific and technological development.

A ceremony in this connection will be held at a local hotel on January 11.

Renowned nuclear scientist, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, will be the chief guest while a former vice-chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Jamil Jalibi, will preside.

Those who will speak on the occasion include the chairman of PCSIR, Dr Misbahul Ain, and Dean of Karachi University's Faculty of Science, Prof Dr Viqaruddin Ahmed.

Prof Atta, who is also the Director of the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, was awarded the international prize that has been introduced by Unesco for the most outstanding contributions for scientific and technological development in a member state.

The prize was conferred by the Director General of Unesco at a special ceremony on the occasion of world conference on science in Budapest, Hungary, on June 29 last year. APP
