Seminar on Asian women's role
LAHORE: The Synodical Church of Pakistan is organising a seminar of women representatives from Sri Lanka, India, Burma and Pakistan on the theme "Weaving the Asian Women into the 21st Century." The World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women will sponsor the seminar, which will emphasise the role of women in national and community development. APP

Poultry prices up
CHICHAWATNI: The poultry prices have soared dramatically in the past week since the cold wave gripped Punjab province, following the recent rains. Eggs and chicken meat have registered a rise from Rs 22-25 per dozen to Rs 34, and from Rs 60 to Rs 68 respectively. APP
College exams from 28th
LARKANA: Principal, Z.A. Bhutto Agricultural College, Dokri, Larkana District on Tuesday notified that examinations of all classes will commence from January 28. The examination forms could be submitted from January 19 to January 27. APP
Women's handloom products fair
KARACHI: Hawwa Craft Centre, a Lahore based women NGO having initiated handloom weaving projects for women belonging to urban slums of Lahore and its surrounding localities plans to hold display of products prepared by these artisans here at Alliance Francais, Karachi from January 21 to 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The handloom products along with embroidered ensembles prepared by Hawwa Women from Multan, Tharparkar and Bahawalpur respectively will also be available on sale at the same venue during the two days.ÑAPP
Three hutments gutted
THATTA: Three hutments were gutted to ashes in village Pirdino Bahrani near Water Supply Scheme, Thatta on Monday. The hutments belonged to villagers Ayoob, Mooso and Khuda Bux all of Bahraini caste. The fire victims claimed their entire household were reduce to ashes. They were able to save only their lives and of their family members and have appealed for support. APP
