Iesco defaulters to face power disconnections

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) will cut off power supply to its defaulted consumers including government departments from January 19.

Talking to APP on Tuesday, Iesco Chief Executive Waseem Zafar said that a number of departments including government and semi-government besides private consumers who are defaulters of million of rupees were given a deadline of January 19.

The departments which were issued notices are the Islamabad Capital Territory Police, the Capital Development Authority with its allied departments, the Pak PWD, the Health Department and the Radio Pakistan.

A number of special teams for this purpose have been constituted.

They were issued notices of disconnection if they do not pay the defaulted amount by January 19.

The Iesco chief executive said that this disconnection campaign would continue till January 30.

He made it clear that the power supply to hospitals and water supply would not be disconnected in view of civil problems. APP
