Electronic warfare development vital for success: DCNS
KARACHI: The Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training and Personnel), Rear Admiral Fayyaz-ur-Rehman, has said that efficient development of electronic warfare assets, both in war and peace, is vital for the success of any naval operation.
"Good electronics warfare training is the most significant step in this direction", he said while speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of Pakistan Navy Communication and Electronic Warfare Proficiency Competition 1999 held at Bahria Auditorium on Tuesday.
Rear Admiral Rehman said that conduct of the competition every year provides an opportunity to the communicators in testing, proving and analysing their skills.
He urged the communicators to keep abreast of the latest communication and electronic warfare techniques of the 21st century.
He congratulated the winners of individual and team events particularly Karachi Wireless and 25th Destroyer Squadron for winning the competition.
Earlier, in his address of welcome, the Director, Communications and Electronics Warfare, Capt Munir Sadiq, briefed the audience about the conduct of the competition. Later the chief guest gave away prizes to the winners.
PN communication proficiency trophy 1999 was awarded to Karachi Wireless and PNS Haider (combined), whereas Desron-25 stood runner up.
Electronic warfare proficiency trophy went to 25th Destroyer Squadron, whereas PNS Mehran received the runner up trophy.
The ceremony was largely attended by naval officers, chief petty officers and sailors. APP
