New power connection in two weeks: IESCO
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has started to entertain applications for new electricity connection within a two-week period under its "One Window Operation" system for providing new connections.
The new system for power connections came into operation to provide new connection aimed at increasing the number of electricity consumers after a trial period of two months.
According to IESCO sources, an applicant will be able to get new electricity connection within two weeks after submission of application.
After the submission of an application the office concerned will issue demand notice to the consumer within a week.
When Chief Executive Brig. Waseem Zafar was contacted in this regard, he said this system is being introduced to end multiple complaints being faced by the people in getting new connections.
A special complaint cell was also established in the head office under the supervision of Executive Engineer aimed at providing all possible facilities to consumers.
He said after coming into operation, people will feel relieved and would be able to get new connection without facing unjustified difficulties.
The Chief Executive said it is the responsibility of IESCO to increase its consumers and the situation was so different because a person who wants to get new connection has to face a lot of problems. Under this system, IESCO will be able to provide 15,000 connections to applicants per month, he hoped.
The IESCO is currently dealing with the electricity supply system of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi City and Chakwal circles. APP
