Nadia Feeds office sealed for non-payment of IT dues

LAHORE: The Income Tax Department on Sunday sealed the office of Nadia Feeds (Pvt) Limited, situated on Jail Road, for non-payment of dues.

Nadia Feeds owes an amount of Rs 1,985,084 to the Income Tax Department for the assessment years 1992-93 to 1995-96. Despite various notices and reminders Nadia Feeds had failed to clear the dues.

The official receiver of the Income Tax Department, Mir Abdul Hakim, along with the police force, on Sunday raided the offices of the firm, took control of the premises and sealed it in favour of the department.

The same receiver served final notices on four directors of Ahmed Rollers and Flour Mills (Pvt) Limited at Chah Miranwala, Shadbagh area, directing them to clear their dues by January 17. In case of failure, the control and management of the company would be taken over by the receiver and the property would be attached in favour of the department.

Ahmed Rollers and Flour Mills' directors Sheikh Mohammad Saqlain, Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Sheikh Niaz Ahmed and Sheikh Mohammad Zulqurnain have to pay Rs 443,799 to the department for the assessment years 1987-88 and 1997-98 to 19998-99.
