Musharraf scheduled
to leave for Beijing
today
ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf leaves here in the wee hours of Monday for Beijing on a two-day visit.
The visit will reaffirm the close and friendly relations between the two countries.
During his visit which will be the first after assuming charge as CE of Pakistan Ñ he will hold indepth exchange of views with Chinese premier Zhu Rongji, meet President Jiang Zemin and Chairman of National People's Congress Li Peng.
According to official sources, the emphasis of his discussions would be on further strengthening of bilateral relations and expansion of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Abdul Sattar, Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz and Commerce Minister Abdul Razzak Dawood will accompany the chief executive.
The chief executive will travel by regular PIA commercial flight to Beijing.
A brief entourage of three ministers and a three-member official media team will accompany the chief executive.
Pakistan and China enjoy a multi-dimensional and comprehensive relationship. High-level visits underscore the dynamism of Pakistan-China relations and the desire of the two countries to consolidate their partnership.ÑAPP
