LHC moved for return of Kalsoom's passport

LAHORE: Pakistan Lawyers Forum (PLF) has filed a petition before the Lahore High Court (LHC) praying to direct the respondent officials to return Kalsoom Nawaz's passport.

Mr. Justice Allah Nawaz of the LHC will proceed with the petition on January 17.

The petitioner, PLF secretary, contended that the respondent officials had taken the passport of Kalsoom Nawaz illegally and without lawful authority after the Nawaz Sharif government was toppled.

He said that she wanted to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umra but when she approached the respondent officials they refused to return her passport.

He contended that she is a respectable citizen and she was neither involved in any criminal activities nor was required to report to the police in any criminal case.

He, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the respondent officials to return her passport enabling her to go Saudi Arabia for Umra.
