KARACHI: Volume of business improved on the seed and grain markets where prices moved both ways on Saturday.

Guwar maintained rising trend. Inferior type rose by Rs. 53 to Rs. 1608 and better type up by Rs. 54 to Rs. 1662.

On the whole rice sector, Irri-9 and old was quoted at Rs. 1,200, Irri-9 Sindh new at Rs. 925 and Rs. 960, basmati new up by Rs. 50 to Rs. 1,900 and better type up Rs. 25 to Rs. 1,950 and super basmati new up by Rs. 50 to Rs. 2,100 and better type quoted at Rs. 2,200.

Masoor dal imported dropped sharply to be quoted down at Rs. 2,250 and Rs. 2,800, and urad Punjab Rs. 63 to Rs. 2,275 and better type was quoted at Rs. 2,435 while moong Punjab quoted at Rs. 1,850.

Rapeseed cakes inferior and better each rose by Rs. 2 to Rs. 180 to Rs. 182 and til new dropped Rs. 25 to Rs. 1,250 and better type shed same amount to Rs. 1,275.
