Concern at transformer theft

LAHORE: Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) Chairman Iqbal Baig and Vice-Chairman Khawaja Shahzad Nasir have expressed their grave concern over alleged stealing of three electricity transformers from the Industrial Estate on the night between January 12 and 13.

In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, they claimed that each transformer was of 11,000 KV capacity and said that in presence of a police force, stealing of such a heavy transformer is going to spread fear amongst the industrialists.

Association Chairman has urged upon the Governor Punjab and I.G Punjab to ensure immediate arrest of the thieves, and asked Wapda authorities to install new transformers.
