Govt working
for good
governance,
says Daudpota
KARACHI: The Sindh governor, Air Marshal Azim Daudpota (Retd) said has the government is working for good governance, restoring an atmosphere of trust providing better working environment in the industrial and commercial fields and taking hold of those looters who caused damage to the country and nation.
He was talking to the participants of 29th PS Staff Course who called on him at the Governor House here on Friday.
To a question, the governor while referring to the past financial and administrative mismanagement said that the past ruling political parties could not work selflessly in accordance with their manifestoes, as a result of which the desired actions for the progress and prosperity of the Province could not be taken.
Now, he said, efforts are being made to ensure the prudent utilisation of money which the people earned in lieu of their sweat and blood, in the greater interest of the Province.
He said work is being done to ensure the participation of people in the government at the grass root level and to use the available resources with their consultation.
The government, he said, is striving for greater inter-provincial harmony, representation to all provinces and participation of women in nation-building activities.
Replying to a question, he said that political parties should be judged in the light of their manifestoes. They would be regarded as successful if they worked within the ambut of their manifesto or else they would be termed as failure.
Daudpota said that every person who lives in Sindh would be regarded as a Sindhi no matter he speaks Sindhi or not. Similarly all those living in Pakistan are Pakistanis and nothing else.
"We can emerge successful only if are united as a naton", the governor emphasised.
Earlier, the provincial finance secretary Abdul Wajid Rana apprised the visitors of the details about Sindh, the statistics relating to different departments and the steps taken for improvement in financial and administrative sectors.ÑAPP
