ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saeeduzzaman Siddiqi on Friday observed that Justice Raja Afrasiab Khan acted with grace and dignity befitting the office of a judge both in and outside the court and had conviction in the honour of the courts which he upheld throughout his career.

Speaking at a full court reference on the retirement of Justice Raja Afrasiab Khan as the judge of the Supreme Court the Chief Justice said he had earned respect and esteem of his friends and collegues for his amicable disposition, simple habits and unassuming life-style.

He treated the counsel and litigants in his court with respect and dignity. The atmosphere in the court during proceedings always remained calm and composed free from all tensions. In dealing with his collegues, he displayed great tolerance and spirit of accommodation.

"We will miss his company at the bench for a long time but we find solace in the high traditions set by him as a judge of the superior court which will continue to provide guidance to those who will follow him," he added.

He said we wish him healthy and meaningful life after retirement.
