RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has invited scientists and agriculture experts to contact it to chalk out a formula to introduce dehydration of onion in Pakistan on mass scale.
The council noted that these days availability of onion is in abundance and is available at a throwaway price of Rs 2 per kg. But after few weeks the prices will start soaring and may touch the double, triple figure.
The dehydration process of onions if applied in Pakistan and stocked to be used later on, the consumers will not have to pay exorbitant prices in case of shortage.
