British defence chief calls on Gen Musharraf
ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Staff of the United Kingdom General Sir Charles Guthrie, currently on an official visit to Pakistan, called on Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf on Thursday.
The British chief defence staff, who was also accompanied by Sir David Dain, High Commissioner of UK in Pakistan, remained with the Chief Executive for some time and exchanged views on matters of common and professional interest.
Gen Sir Charles Guthrie also visited the Naval and Air Headquarters where he met Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Abdul Aziz Mirza and Air Chief Marshal Parvaiz Mehdi Qureshi.
Matters of professional interest came under discussion during the meetings.
Gen Guthrie, who flew into Islamabad on Thursday morning, was warmly received at the airport by the Lieutenant General Muhammad Naeem Akbar, Director General Joint Staff, senior military officers and representatives of the UK High Commission. APP
