TOKYO: Japan's Softbank Corp. said on Wednesday that it would set up a venture capital fund to help Internet-related start-up firms in Latin America.

Initially capitalised at 100 million dollars, the fund, Softbank Latin America Ventures, will start operating later this month, the Japanese Internet investor said in a statement.

The fund would nurture and provide money to local Internet start-up companies and support Internet-related companies with a promising future in Latin America," the company said.ÑAFP
