4 killed, eight hurt in road accidents
SAHIWAL: Four persons were killed and eight others injured in different traffic accidents in the district on Thursday. A cyclist, Amin was crushed to death under the wheels of a long trailer on GT Road near Qadirabad. Jamal Din and Ali Sher (65) succumbed to the injuries in the Civil Hospital, Sahiwal, who had been injured on Wednesday in a road accident here. In another road mishap a speeding wagon turned turtle on Sahiwal Arifwala Road, causing the instant death of a passenger and injuries to eight others. Police have registered the case.ÑAPP
Six tubewells disconnected
SAHIWAL: Wapda has disconnected the supply of electricity to six tubewells due to non-payment. According to details the tubewells of Kot Alah Din, Kot Khadim Ali Shah, Kot Farid Khan, Abid Colony, Kot Allah Din No. 2 and Chak No.85/6R have been disconnected. Due to this there is no drinking water in these localities and people are facing hardships during Ramazan. The inhabitants of these localities have appealed to the concerned authorities for intervention and re-connection of the tubewells.ÑAPP

KARACHI: Industries and Labour Minister Dewan Mohammad Yusuf Farooqui, has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the death of 52 passengers who perished in a bus accidents on Motorway on Thursday. In a statement from Mekkah-ul-Mukarrama, where he has gone to perform Umrah. Dewan Yusuf said he was shocked. He prayed to Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant fortitude to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.ÑAPP

KARACHI: The last and final waiting list of candidates declared to have qualified for admission criterion for BB degrees programme in Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology was issued on Friday. Power shutdown notice
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) has informed that due to necessary repair and maintenance work at 132 kv Kotri-Thatta Transmission Line, the power supply will remain suspended on Saturday at 132 kv Jhampeer from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. On January 2, 2000, the spokesperson of Hesco said that power supply will be suspended from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. at all 11 kv feeders of Khanote Grid Statin following the repair and maintenance work at 132 kv Lakhara Shalmani Line.ÑAPP
