Hakim Said's murder case hearing adjourned
KARACHI: The hearing of triple murder case of Hakim Said, Hakim Abdul Qadir and peon Mali Mohammed of Hamdard (Waqf) Pakistan was once again adjourned on Tuesday.
When the appeals filed by convicted accused came before an Anti-Terrorism Appellate (ATA) bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) comprising Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Mohammed Ashraf Leghari, Sindh AAG Jalil A Hashmi informed the bench that the Sindh AG is available in his office and ready to appear before the court.
The defence counsel accused present before the bench requested the court that two senior counsel Syed Iqtidar Ali Hashmi representing accused Abu Imran Pasha and Shaukat Zubedi, representing accused Ezaz-ul-Hasan alias Wazeer are busy before other courts.
At this the bench adjourned the matter till February 29. The appeals are filed by accused including Shaikh Mohammed Amirullah, Mohammed Shakir alias Shakir Langra, Mohammed Nadeem alias Nadeem Mota, Mohammed Asif, Zubair Hussain, Mohammed Faisal, Nazar alias Muqarib, Ezaz-ul-Hasan alias Wazeer, Abu Imran Pasha who were sentenced to death by ATC 6 for Karachi division.
All the accused were booked by Arambagh police on the charge of triple murder.
Meanwhile, another bench of SHC comprising Chief Justice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali dismissed as infructuous a constitutional petition challenging arrest of Mir Nadir Ali Khan Magsi, former Sindh local bodies minister.
When the matter was taken up the counsel for the petitioner informed the bench that the accused has been released by the authorities. APP
