Intel's flash memory device for Ericsson

KARACHI: The Intel Corporation on Tuesday announced that it will provide Ericsson the next generation of high-performance flash memory for cellular phones.

A press release issued by the Intel Pakistan Corporation said that the agreement between the Ericsson and the Intel includes a three-year commitment by the Ericsson to purchase Intel's flash memory devices.

In addition, the companies will work together to define flash products capable of strong code and data such as Web pages, e-mail, voice and music.

The agreement will enable the Ericsson to bring to market new products that support content and services made possible by the upcoming third generation (3G) networks, which will combine voice and Internet capabilities into wireless handheld devices.
