RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: Volume of business rose during the opening session on Monday as retailers covering their needs after two-days closure.
Most of the commodities changed hands at the week-end level, but some variations in chemicals and Kirana items.
Kirana items were heavily sought after amid significant variations. Small cardamom from Tanzania was quoted higher at Rs. 22,000, cloves rose by Rs. 100 to Rs. 12,500. Sago rose by Rs. 20 to Rs. 1,020, cuminseed up by Rs. 100 to Rs. 3,100, Darchini down by Rs. 50 to Rs. 4,000, almond Irani dropped Rs. 200 to Rs. 7,600, Chilghoza roasted down by Rs. 100 to Rs. 7,400 and dry dates shed same amount to Rs. 1,700.
Chemicals: Caustic soda flakes Saudi rose by 25 paisa to Rs. 25.75, Dop from Germany up by 30 paisa to Rs 63, formic acid Pakistani lost Rs. 45.50 to Rs. 41.50, Oxalic acid China rose by 20 paisa to Rs. 31, sulphonic acid China, down by 50 paisa to Rs. 60, PVA Japan dropped Re. 1 to Rs 129 and Rangolite "C" from Germany rose by Rs. 4.85 to Rs. 122.
