Open kutchery

LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Corporation (Lesco) superintending engineer Abdul Hameed Nadeem will hold an open kutchery on Tuesday 10 a.m. in the office of SDO Bhati Gate sub-division. He will hear the complaints of consumers of Bhati Gate, Fort, City, Bilal Gunj, Ravi Road and Karim Park sub-divisions on the occasion, and issue on-the-spot instructions for their redressal. Earlier, he will preside over a meeting of the field officers of Fort division and review the problems of the workers.ÑAPP

Wapda recovers Rs 35m dues

DERA GHAZI KHAN: From a total of Rs 42.6 million outstanding dues, Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has recovered Rs 35 million during the last three months. Army and Wapda teams had disconnected electricity of defaulting government offices and about 700 private consumers, and were currently working on recovery of the remaining amount. This was disclosed by the superintending engineer Wapda, DG Khan. He said 15 new transformers of 200 and 100 kg costing Rs 4 million would be provided in big cities before the summer.ÑAPP

Notices issued

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The deputy commissioner, DG Khan has issued notices to all gas dealers to shift their gas cylinder godowns and shops outside the city. The step has been taken to ensure safety of life and property of the citizens, against possible mishaps.ÑAPP

Palace cleaning begins

AHMEDPUR EAST: On the directives of the federal government, the district government has started cleaning the historical Sadiq Garh palace of the last ruler of former Bahawalpur state Nawab General Sir Sadiq Mohammad Khan Abbasi. The palace was sealed 16 years ago in Feb 1984 due to dispute among his legal heirs. Meanwhile, Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt General Tahir Ali Qureshi visited Sadiq Garh palace and Dera Nawab Sahib residence of Amir of Bahawalpur Nawab Sallahuddin Abbasi along with his family. Station commander, Dera Nawab Sahib cantt, assistant commissioner and DSP were also present on the occasion.ÑPPI
