Egyptian FM off to Damascus for ME talks
CAIRO: Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa left for Damascus on Monday for talks with Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and Foreign Minister Farouq al-Shara, airport sources said.
Egyptian newspapers said Moussa would be conveying a message on the Middle East peace process from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
On Sunday, Moussa met the Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy, the Palestinian Planning Minister Nabil Shaath and Jordan's Foreign Minister Abdulilah al-Khatib to discuss the fate of Palestinians displaced in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
Peace talks between Israel and Syria were suspended in January, with Syria demanding an explicit commitment from Israel to return all of the Golan Heights, captured in the 1967 war.-Reuters
