Prisoner attempts suicide

FAISALABAD: A prisoner Ghulam Qadir on Sunday allegedly attempted to commit suicide by cutting himself up with some sharp-edged weapon in Faisalabad Central Jail as mark of protest against unhygienic food and excesses of warders.

Ghulam Qadir was shifted to hospital in serious condition and Sadar police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, a hotel owner Hazrat Khan was beaten to death by three persons Shahid, Khalid and Asif over a minor dispute in Partab Nagar.

Khalwat Khan, son of the deceased, was also injured.

Jhang Bazar police have registered a murder case.
