JJ announces compensation

for H'abad blast victims

HYDERABAD: Two more bomb blast victims, Sadiq Maseeh and Sajid of Hyderabad Railway Station succumbed to their injuries during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to six.

The media adviser to Chief Executive, Gen Pervez Musharraf, Javed Jabbar visited Civil Hospital Hyderabad on Sunday evening and inquired about the health of the victims. He has announced on behalf of the Chief Executive Rs 100,000 each for the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each for injured.

The deceased are identified as Mohammad Farooq S/o Mohammad Hassan, Najeeb S/o Yunus Maseeh, Pervez S/o Sadiq Maseeh, Abdur Rehman S/o Sultan Sheikh and his wife Amna, Sadia Maseeh and Sajid.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police, Pakistan Railways, M R. Zia has constituted two teams under the supervision of DSPs Railways to conduct inquiry into the blast incident.

The IGP Railways M R Zia arrived here on Sunday evening to take stock of the situation arising out of the bomb explosion.

The SSP Railways, Karachi Captain Jamil Ahmed has suspended an SHO and two constables of Hyderabad Police Railway Station on account of negligence. Sub-Inspector Safdar Jafri has been appointed new SHO.

A case vide No. 9/2000 under sections 3,4,5 of Explosive Act, 7-a of Anti-Terrorism Act, 302, 427 PPc. 324 Qisas and Diyat against unknown persons on the complaint of Railway Guard, Ansar Ahmed has been registered.
