Pakistan demands Indian troops pull out from occupied Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has demanded immediate pull out of Indian troops from the occupied Kashmir and release of all APHC leaders illegally jailed under the draconian Public Safety Act.
The demand was made by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Abbas Sarfaraz Khan while talking to the PPI at Kashmir solidarity dinner hosted by him here on Saturday.
The dinner besides others was also attended by Federal Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Omar Asghar Khan, Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs Tressler, member National Security Council Attiya Inayat Ullah, AJK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Secretary General APHC Ghulam Mohammad Safi and other political figures.
He said the Indian government should withdraw her occupation troops and honour its obligations under international law to hold a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the international community to persuade India to immediately end the gross and systematic violation of human rights being perpetrated by its forces in the valley. Abbas Sarfaraz Khan also asked the international community to extend full support to the suffering people of Jammu and Kashmir in their difficult struggle against Indian occupation.
He said Jammu and Kashmir is a dangerous nuclear flash-point adding that the nuclearisation of South Asia calls for solution to the Kashmir imbroglio on urgent basis. he said Kashmir dispute is the root-cause of tension in South Asia adding that without the settlement of the core issue of Kashmir, durable peace in the region will remain a distant dream.
