Mengal briefs World Bank mission about uplift plans

QUETTA: World Bank mission led by James Harrison called on Governor Balochistan Justice Amirul Mengal (Retd) here on Saturday.

The mission is currently on a tour of Balochistan, briefing the mission, the governor informed the mission of projects undertaken in the province under social action programmes (SAP). He said present government is according priority to health, education and drinking water so that people living in remote and far-flung areas of the province could be provided basic facilities of life.

The governor said it is our desire that people particularly local populace should also be included in the process of development.

Governor informed the World Bank mission that several measures have been taken for the elimination of corruption, clean administration and misuse of public money. Work is being done for good governance and stability of institution.

Governor hoped that the World Bank would extend cooperation to the present government in its efforts and assistance would be provided for the upliftment of projects in the said sectors.

The team leader of the mission applauded the efforts of the present set up and expressed the hope that positive outcome of these measures would soon be visible. PPI
