MULTAN: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Multan has demanded of the government to investigate the performance of autonomous hospitals and institutions through an impartial authority as inspection through provincial health secretary cannot bring to the true picture of these institutions.

Presiding over a meeting of PMA, Dr Zafar Chaudhry said that those who had introduced autonomy in health institutions were inspecting these units and they would not point out shortcomings of this policy.

Through a resolution, PMA demanded provision of jobs to doctors on regular basis as contract system or daily wages were not acceptable to them.

It further resolved that an integrated health policy be framed with the consent of PMA so that people could get maximum health care.

It also demanded the introduction of an attractive service structure for doctors so that they could serve the nation with concentration.

Dr Liaqat Dogar, Dr Bashir Qamar, Dr Abdul Hassan Naqvi, Dr Habibur Rehman, Dr Rana Arshad, Dr Ibad Sindhu and others also spoke on the occasion.

They also expressed solidarity with Kashmiri people and drew the attention of major states towards the miserable condition of people and Indian aggression on Line of Control.
