KIA car scam victims to form action committee

KARACHI: A meeting of the KIA car scam victims was held under the auspices of The Reformers on Saturday.

The meeting roughly estimated that there were about 18,000 to 19,000 victims of the scam, who had paid various amounts to Naya Daur Motors for booking KIA and Pride cars through various authorised dealers throughout the country.

"Some had paid the full price of the car on the assurance given to them at the time of booking for urgent delivery of the cars, which never materialised," it was stated.

The participants at the meeting expressed their anger over the indifference of the past governments towards the victims of this scam.

The meeting decided to form an action committee to take up the matter with the present government.

The victims pointed out that the assets of Naya Daur Motors were at present in the custody of the government.
