2000 year of Kashmiris' freedom: Sultan
MUZAFFARABAD: AJK Premier Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that unresolved long-standing Kashmir dispute was a stigma on the face of world community.
He expressed these views in his address of welcome to the Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf at the Ambore Refugee camps on the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day on Saturday.
He said the 21st century has started but the suffering of Kashmiri people are still going on under the bayonets of Indian security forces.
Sultan said Chief Executive's visit to the AJK on the eve of "Solidarity Day" has boosted the morale of Kashmiri people in occupied Kashmir and was a good omen in strengthening the on-going freedom movement in the valley.
He expressed his gratitude on his behalf and on behalf of the people of occupied Kashmir and AJK to Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf for visiting AJK and addressing refugees on the eve of Solidarity Day.
Sultan said Pakistan army, people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were united under the dynamic leadership of General Pervez Musharraf.
He said, "this is the last Solidarity Day" being observed in the year 2000 which was the year of freedom for the people of Kashmir, he added.
He paid rich tributes to the valiant Kashmiris for their sacrifices for the noble cause of freedom and said atrocities and brutalities being inflicted on Kashmiris cannot stop them from their legitimate right of self-determination.
AJK premier said freedom is the ultimate fate of Kashmiri people and no one can deprive them of their inalienable right as the freedom of Kashmiri people was not far off. He said time has come when more than 700,000 Indian troops would have to vacate occupied territory after being humiliated at the hands of valiant Kashmiri Mujahideen.
On the occasion, AJK Senior Minister Sahibzada Mohammad Ishaque Zafar also addressed.
The local Kashmiri artists also presented a beautiful Kashmir Urdu 'Milli Tarana' which was greatly applauded.ÑAPP
