Dental health programme

KARACHI: Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) is launching school dental health programme throughout the country from February 6.

According to a news release issued here on Friday, this programme is being conducted in collaboration with Lever Brothers Pakistan Ltd Twenty cities Ñ eight in Punjab, five in Sindh, four in Balochistan and three in NWFP have been earmarked for this purpose.

Teams comprising two dental surgeons each will visit schools both in public and private sectors and will provide information to children regarding prevention of dental diseases with the help of video film, charts, models and other educative materials. A total of 350 schools and 245,000 children have been targeted for this project for the year 2000.

In a similar programme in 1999, 527 schools and 175,000 children were covered.

The Sindh governor will inaugurate this programme on February 6.ÑAPP
