'Amanti Phutti' rate fixed
HYDERABAD: The rate of "Amanti Phutti" cotton seed, kept by growers with ginners up to January 24, 2000, has been fixed as Rs 600 per 40 kilogrammes.
It was decided in a joint meeting of the representatives of growers, ginners and the officers of Agriculture Extension Department held on Friday under the presidentship of Commissioner, Hyderabad Division, Imtiaz Kazi.
It also decided that ginning charges will continue to be deducted at Rs 210 per three maunds of phutti. Moreover, deduction on account of "Boora" and thrash would not be more than two kilogrammes.
The meeting further decided that no arbitrary deduction will be made by the ginners on the pretext of octroi etc.
The commissioner directed that the meeting regarding fixation of ginning charges for the next seasons should be held much before the first ginning will start in the province.
Deputy Commissioner Rizwan Ahmed informed the meeting that district administration will ensure recovery of excess charges by ginners for weight or other deduction. APP
