Alleged murderer
granted bail
KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Mohammad Ashraf Leghari, on Friday, granted bail to an accused involved in murder case of Rangers officials.
The bail was granted to the accused/applicant Mohammad Younus on ground of consistency as bail has been granted to 13 other co-accused by Special Court for Suppression of Terrorist Activities (STA) West.
According to the prosecution present accused/applicant accompanied by co-accused Farooq Dada, Yaqoob Mada, Hanif Turk and others all belonging to MQM (A) Baldia Town Sector fired at a rangers party on March 16, 1994. Captain Aamir, Police Constable (PC) Mohammed Sultan, PC Faqir Mohammed and PC Altaf Anwar of Rangers died on the spot while several other officials of Baldia Town Police sustained injuries.
Mehmood A Qureshi Advocate appearing for the applicant prayed for grant of bail as the same concession has been given to co-accused.
Meanwhile, the same bench appointed Barrister M Iqbal to appear as counsel for pauper accused Ali Nawaz Khoso. The bench was hearing an appeal preferred by the accused against conviction and sentence awarded to him by an Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) for Karachi.
Accused Khoso was sentenced to death in triple murder case of three real brothers Jamal Noor Khan, Shadab Noor Khan and Salman Noor Khan during a dacoity bid in the area of PS Defence.
Adil Noor Khan, fourth brother injured in the incident identified the accused at trial.ÑAPP
