KARACHI: "Shaukat Tarin, President of Habib Bank, has been a fine example of personal commitment, competence and dedication for the banking industry," remarked Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr. Isharat Husain while addressing a luncheon meeting hosted by him to bid farewell to out-going president of HBL.

The Governor appreciated the role played by Shaukat Tarin and his team for turning around HBL "from a loss making bank to a vibrant and sustainable bank that is ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century"

Tarin's successor in HBL, he said would inherit a level playing field and may take the bank to new heights its professional standards set by him are maintained and further developed.

Senior bankers from leading local and multi-national banks also attended the occasion.
