Govt-Hubco case hearing adjourned

KARACHI: The Special Banking Court has adjourned the hearing of state vs Hubco case to February 19, but warned the prosecutors that it would not grant further time and would proceed with the case.

In a press statement, Hub Power Company said that the banking court also advised the FIA to refrain from harassing the officers and employees of Hubco.

The company said that on January 21 last, it filed an application for quashment of the proceedings in Criminal Case No.129 of 1998 arising out of FIR 59/98 lodged against the company by Wapda. The FIR related to charges of corruption in the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The FIA sought further time on Thursday from the court.
