Cheaper dental treatment

KARACHI: Sindh Government is taking steps for providing better and cost effective dental treatment facilities specially for the low-income people.

This was stated by Sindh Health Minister Prof. S.M. Rab while speaking on "cheaper dental treatment" at a Rotary Club meeting.

He said he would give thought to merging Dental Health Service with existing School Health Service for the benefit of school children and to help them have better knowledge about dental care and hygiene.

The minister suggested the need for publishing posters highlighting messages about dental care. He said these posters should convey a message in a manner which may be understandable both by literate and illiterate people.

Referring to issues highlighted by Dr. Rafia Khanum Malik, the minister said same would be taken up by the Health Department and a programme will be initiated to get them addressed on permanent basis.

Prof. Rab said adequate provision for medical facilities at all levels is the government's first priority. He said to him a patient is more important and it was for this reason that he selected this department.
