4 die, 20 hurt in wagon-truck collision

SUKKUR: Four persons including a woman died and 20 others were injured in an accident on the National Highway near Kandiaro around 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Reports received here said when a wagon carrying 27 passengers from Sehwan Sharif's village Zawwar Noor Muhammad Bugti reached near Shaheen Petrol Pump on National Highway near Kandiaro it collided head- on with a speedy truck coming from the opposite direction. The collision left four persons Mst. Duggal, Allah Dino, Shabbir Bugti and unidentified wagon (mini-bus) driver dead on-the-spot while 20 others including women and children were injured, five of them seriously.

On receipt of information the Deputy Commissioner Naushehro Feroze, SP Naushero Feroze, SDM Kandiaro and other officials rushed to the site of incident and sent the seriously injured to Nawabshah through Edhi Ambulance while other injured were shifted to the hospitals of Kandiaro and Naushero Feroze hospitals through private vehicles.

The truck driver managed to escape from the scene leaving behind the truck which was impounded by police. APP
