LAHORE: Candidates supported by the Punjab Law Minister, Dr. Khalid Ranjha, won majority of the seats in the Lahore High Court Bar Association elections held here on Saturday.

Pir Kalim Khurshid has been elected as president of the association with 1,328 votes.

His rival Mian Asrarul Haq, backed by PPP and PML-N minded lawyers obtained 1,200 votes. Third candidate Muazam Iqbal obtained only 14 votes.

Akhtar Shah has been elected as vice-president by 1,450 votes.

For the office of secretary Abdid Saqi has been elected by 1,125 votes.

Only two candidate contested elections for the office of finance secretary. Ms. Guzar Butt win the seat by bagging 1,454 votes.
