Gul Bahao's plea to youths

LAHORE: Nargis Latif, Convener of Gul Bahao, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) working in Karachi to recycle household garbage in fertilizer and other useful articles, has urged the youths and unemployed people to come forward and take benefit from their organisation's experience.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club (LPC) here on Friday, said that she started collecting garbage and converting them into useful articles some four years back. She said that using the disposed material the organisation introduced 'Instant Compost' (fertilizer from vegetable and other natural resources) and Wastic blocks (made of disposed shopping bags).

She said that garbage (N) Gold bank had been established by their organisation at Kashmir Road Karachi where garbage was exchanged for hard cash or even gold.

Nargis Latif claimed that it was a very profitable and useful method to dispose off the house-hold garbage and said that Karachi University's Professor Sualeha Ahmed has conducted successful trials on the Instant Compost.

She said that she was willing that now her experience can be transferred to other people so as to use the garbage after recycling.
