CBR invites budget proposals
SOHAIL SARFRAZ
ISLAMABAD: The Central Board of Revenue has invited all the chambers of commerce and industry to provide comprehensive proposals regarding formulation of coming budget for 2000-2001, it was learnt on Friday.
The board has urged the chambers to provide the suggestions before March 10.
The board has also explained that while formulating each proposal, decisions of the current import policy, customs tariff and law should be carefully studied and kept in view.
It has been pointed out that all the proposals should be duly supported with the necessary statistical data.
The CBR has already launched 2000-2001 budget exercise by collecting new workable ideals from all the income tax formations with a view to improving the system and enhancing resource mobilisation.
Every year when the budget preparation starts, proposals are traditionally invited from the chambers, associations of traders, exporters and importers with the aim to accommodate worthy suggestions of the business community.
