Democracy useless sans accountability, says Munshi
ISLAMABAD: Law Minister and Attorney General for Pakistan, Aziz A. Munshi, has said that a democracy in which the parliament was unable to conduct accountability of the corrupt head of government, ministers and the members of assembly, would be a futile exercise.
The law minister stated this in an interview with Radio Tehran.
Talking about deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif and the constitutional amendments made by him, he said that former prime minister had become a dictator through the 13th and 14th constitutional amendments, causing an irreparable loss to the country and the constitution.
The law minister added that balance of power had vanished in the Constitution of Pakistan. APP
