EMDF okays funds for trade group officers training

KARACHI: The board of administrators of Export Market Development Fund (EMDF), which met on Friday under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, approved funds for the specialised training programme of the commerce and trade group officers and appointment of domestic consultants for Export Modernisation Steering Committee.

The board was informed that the under-construction Karachi Expo Centre would be ready for functioning by the middle of April 2000.

It also discussed the auditing of Textile Quota Management and approved remuneration for the auditors.

The board members, who attended the meeting included EPB Chairman Tariq Ikram, Federal Commerce Secretary Mirza Qamar Beg, Federal Industries Secretary Abu Shamim Arif, EPB Vice Chairman Syed Masood Alam Rizvi, FPCCI President Fazal-ur-Rehman Dittu, and Mehfooz Alam, representative of the governor of State Bank of Pakistan.
