Fascom seminar on internet connectivity

KARACHI: The Fascom Network Services Limited held a seminar on dedicated internet connectivity at its office on Thursday. The participants highlighted the importance of internet in the present-day life.

Fascom chief executive officer Faisal Ahmad in his address said that the growth of internet is one of the most exciting trends of recent years. He said the growth of internet in the world had generated $301 billion in revenues, created 1.2 million jobs and played a vital role in improving the standard of living of a large number of people.

He said internet has enabled people to buy cars online, check financial statements, send gifts to friends and do countless other things.

It is high time to gear up and explore new horizons for a better future not only for us but also for generations to come. This can only be achieved by planning and implementing better IT policies, he said.

The participants included representatives of multinational companies like Maersk Pakistan, BASF, Engro Chemical, Shell Pakistan and Lasmo Oil and foreign banks such as ABN AMRO, ANZ Grindlays, Credit Agricole Indosuez, American Express, Habib Bank AG Zurich.
