Establishment of audit and accounts academy proposed

LAHORE: The Auditor General of Pakistan has proposed establishment of an audit and accounts academy at a cost of Rs 212.233 million in Islamabad.

Sources close to the Auditor General told Fortuna, the department had forwarded a comprehensive proposal to the Federal government for a formal approval before work on the project could be initiated.

Sources said currently there was no academy for pre-service training of the accounts group probationers which was leading to severe problems in the smooth and efficient operations of the department.

The academy building is to be constructed in Sector H-8/4 on a plot measuring 1,777.78 square yards, will be completed in two years.

The academy will have residential quarters for the trainees besides administrative block, hostel block and ancillary building.ÑFortuna
